Our wedding ceremony will take place on Friday, June 24 at 6:00 PM. It will take place at the Palazzo, outdoors (weather permitting). We won’t know the exact location until we arrive for the week. Dress is up to you entirely. Fancy frocks or tank tops, tails or hot pants, it’s up to you; wear whatever you feel most comfortable in! We have hired a professional photographer who will be with us for about 3 hours. Following the ceremony we will have beverages and antipasto by the pool area followed by a sit down dinner served family style (again, exact location to be determined once we get the lay of the land). If it’s nice, we’ll try to dine al fresco. We will hopefully have some toasts but don’t expect a formal cake cutting (although I hope we will have a cracking tiramisu and something chocolatey for dessert). We don’t plan on having any formal “dances” although spontaneous dancing is never frowned upon, if the mood strikes. That’s about it! Sweet and simple is how we like it. However, we will need some help in the following areas to pull it all off.

  • Food. Our thought is to have a combination of brought-in and home made. If you feel you want to contribute a dish, please do (and let us know by Wednesday, 6/22)! Perhaps we’ll want to recreate some of the dishes we learn at our cooking lesson. In addition, there is a restaurant directly across the street from the palazzo that offers catering services. In fact the restaurant is reportedly one of the best in Umbria. I’d like to do some menu planning with those who think they want to contribute a dish on Wednesday and place the order with the restaurant.
  • Set Up. We’ll need help setting up chairs, staging and general logistics.
  • Music. We have a few music cues for the ceremony. I’m told that a sound system can be brought outside but again, we won’t know how exactly it will work until we see what’s available. Minimally, we’ll need somebody to push play and stop at the appropriate times.
